St. Peter's Men's Retreat
My brothers in Christ,
We live in a society that judges us as men by our appearance, physical strength, intellectual capacity, and earning capacity. It is no wonder that many of us struggle with issues of self-esteem, addiction, and plain old burnout! This is why I believe it is important for us as brothers in Christ to gather together for a time of retreat to remind ourselves of who we are, and whose we are. The St. Peter's men's retreat will take place on Saturday, January 11 from 8am to 4pm at the Marianist Retreat & Conference Center. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. The cost of this one-day retreat is $50 (please don't let cost be the reason you cannot attend, scholarships are available upon request).
Our retreat leader will be The Rev. Canon Scott Gunn. Fr. Gunn is an Episcopal priest who serves as the Executive Director of Forward Movement in Cincinnati, OH (publisher of Forward Day by Day) and one of the founders of Lent Madness. The mission of Forward Day by Day is to inspire disciples and empower evangelists. Scott has written several books such as Walk in Love: Episcopal Beliefs and Practices and Faithful Questions: Exploring the Way with Jesus. Scott is also a very well-known retreat leader and preacher in the Episcopal Church. He has most recently been nominated for Bishop of the Episcopal diocese of Oklahoma. Click here to see.
