St. Peter's Gallery - Upcoming Events

Gallery News
The second half of our year will bring more art to the gallery.

OPENING on Friday, July 24th, Mary Catherine Hodges presents “I pray you don’t forget playfulness”, a series of acrylic paintings on canvas and paper. Her bright colors will add cheer to our Undercroft services. A reception is planned for Sunday, July 26, right after 10:30 a.m. service. Mary Catherine is travelling from Denver with this show, so let's give her a big welcome.! Show ends September 8th. (Did we mention Mary Catherine is Rev. David’s daughter?)

OPENING on Friday, September 11, Brenda Gilliam presents her paintings that reflect tabletop settings and other food related scenes. Brenda is an award-winning St. Louis painter and graphic designer. A reception is planned for September 11, 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Show will end on October 19th.

OPENING 1st week of November, the Guild Estate sale will offer works that they have been collecting. Artwork will be up before the sale date of November 8th. Donations are still being accepted for this sale.

CALL FOR ART!! We will again have a children's art show during the Christmas season. Please lend us your child's or grandchild’s work for this exhibit. It was so joyful last year. Work may be wire hung or mounted on mat board/ paper support. Any age through high school is acceptable. If you need help with the mounting, the gallery group will be glad to assist.

And getting ready for 2027…………………..

OPENING in mid-January through February, Byron Rogers will be showing his wood block prints. Byron is a teacher at Kirkwood High School, the founder of BAGS, an art making group for teens in North St. Louis, and an award-winning artist in the area.

CALL FOR ART!! The gallery group wants YOU - parishioners of St. Peters to have an inhouse art show. We know of a few artists out there and I’m sure there are many we don’t know about. Sharing the walls with your fellow parishioners will be a beautiful expression of the talents God has entrusted to our community.

That's all for now. Please support your gallery by attending our receptions. I know you can see the work when you’re here for church, but our mission is to create community through art - bring a friend or neighbor and help us reach that goal. We welcome feedback about our program.
