Spring Speaker Series Begins April 30

We hope you will join us for our upcoming speaker series, “Faith & Service: Living Out Our Values.” Our speakers will discuss how they actively live out their faith through their work in the broader community. Join us for four Wednesdays, beginning April 30, for a Midweek Eucharist, dinner, and presentation.

April 30: Michael McMillan

Our first guest speaker will be Michael McMillan, President and CEO of the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, Inc. Michael has dedicated his life to public service, with a profound impact on the St. Louis region as President and CEO of the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis (ULSTL). Under his leadership, ULSTL has expanded its annual budget from $15 million to over $50 million, increased service locations from 8 to 25, and broadened its outreach with over 60 programs and services that empower more than 200,000 residents each year. The St. Louis Urban League remains the largest in the country with the most clients served, staff, programs and locations. 

A graduate of Saint Louis University, McMillan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in African American Studies with a minor in Political Science, emphasizing Finance. May 7:  Dr. John Inazu

John Inazu is the Sally D. Danforth Distinguished Professor of Law and Religion at Washington University in St. Louis. His latest book is Learning to Disagree: The Surprising Path to Navigating Differences with Empathy and Respect (Zondervan, 2024). He is also the author of Liberty’s Refuge: The Forgotten Freedom of Assembly (Yale University Press, 2012) and Confident Pluralism: Surviving and Thriving Through Deep Difference (University of Chicago Press, 2016), and co-editor (with Tim Keller) of Uncommon Ground: Living Faithfully in a World of Difference (Thomas Nelson, 2020).

May 14: DR. Page Walley

Dr. Page Walley serves as Tennessee State Senator for District 26 (Chester, Fayette, Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood, Lawrence, McNairy and Wayne counties). Senator Walley is a passionate advocate for his constituents and rural District and a renowned public speaker, having delivered remarks across the U.S. as well as in Russia, Yemen, and Moldova. Dr. Walley is a licensed clinical psychologist, a licensed minister, and an adjunct faculty member at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. He currently serves as the Board Chairman of the I Am Next Foundation and has had an accomplished career helping lead large non-profits serving families, children, and communities.  Learn more about Dr. Walley >>

May 21: Pat Coleman

Pat Coleman is the former President & CEO of Behavioral Health Response, a leading behavioral health nonprofit providing 24-hour crisis intervention serving the city of St. Louis and numerous neighboring counties.

Pat currently serves on the board of Greater St. Louis and board trustee of Fontbonne University. She is recognized for numerus esteemed awards including Excellence in Business and Excellence in Healthcare from the St. Louis American Foundation; Visionary Leader from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing; Diversity Business Leader and Most Influential Women in Business from the St. Louis Business Journal; and Titan 100 Hall of Fame.  Learn more about Pat Coleman >>
