Outreach Opportunity: Boys and Girls Club of St. Louis

The Outreach Committee is thrilled to announce a new partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of St. Louis!  Based on your survey responses, feedback, our new mission statement, and our focus areas, the Boys and Girls Club is a great fit for the congregation's interests and priorities.

We have chosen to partner with the Adam's Park Club and are looking for volunteers for homework help and mentoring.  The Boys and Girls Club also frequently has one-time events where volunteers will be very welcome.

Volunteer Details:

  1. Homework Help: Volunteers are needed to help with math, science, and reading at the Adam's Park Club Monday through Thursday from 2 to 4.  You don't need any special training or expertise, just enthusiasm and patience!  You are not required to be there on the same day each week, but consistency is appreciated.

  2. Mentoring: On the first and third Wednesdays from 8:30-9:30, there is an in-school mentoring program at Adams with 6th graders.  The commitment for new mentors is from January - May 2020.

To Get Involved:

Step 1: Fill out the volunteer application here.  St. Peter's is happy to pay the $15 application fee.

Step 2: Pass a background check - the fee for this is waived.

Step 3: Do online volunteer training

Members of the outreach committee are happy to answer any questions you have about these opportunities.  We can't wait to work with you at Adams!
