A Message from the Rector: 10-20-2022
I want to take this opportunity to share with you some of what is and will be happening in the life and ministry of St. Peter’s.
We are working to develop and implement a vision for the future
In order to carry out ministry, it is imperative to develop a plan that will help guide us into the future. In consultation with your vestry, I will soon begin to form a Long-Range Vision committee and have invited Rev. Bill Wilson, from the Center for Healthy Churches, to work with us.
St. Peter’s is a place where lives are being formed and God is worshipped
- The newest opportunity for worship at St. Peter’s takes place each Sunday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. in the Undercroft and it is going very well! Remember that it is a casual, “come as you are,” child friendly, service.
- Every Thursday at 5:30 p.m., there is a brief, informal service of Holy Communion in Grace Chapel. That service also includes prayers for healing.
- There are currently three offerings for Bible study: Living the Faith on Tuesdays at 7:30 a.m., Bible Basics on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and the Friday Morning Zoom Bible Study at 7:00 a.m.
We are a church that offers fellowship and fun
- The recent Fall Family Bonfire was a great success with 45 people participating!
- On October 30 at 4:15 p.m., children of all ages are invited to listen to the sounds of the season at the Halloween Organ Spooktacular.
- Remember that a full, wonderful breakfast is served in the Undercroft each Sunday morning between the two services.
Finally, I want to thank two members of our lay staff, Angela Mahan, our Chief of Staff/Parish Administrator and Theresa Barnicle, our Administrative Assistant, who are leaving St. Peter’s at the end of this month. Both have accepted positions that will give them a chance to advance their careers in very positive ways. I am very grateful for them and for the good work they have done.
Every blessing to you,
David+
