2020 ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN
Pledging financial support is an important spiritual exercise which allows us to reflect on the gifts God has given us and express our thanks by giving back. Prayerful consideration and reflecting on our faith put us on the path of intentional giving. Questions for reflection:
- Where does giving fit within my personal and spiritual priorities?
- How does giving connect me to God and to other people?
- Does my giving reflect God’s generosity in my life?
DOES MY PLEDGE REALLY MATTER?
Yes it most certainly does! It is the financial support of the congregation that makes all we do at St. Peter’s possible. More than 81% of our income comes from contributions of our members. Through collective generosity, the difference St. Peter’s can make in the lives of our parishioners and neighbors, near and far, can grow in strength and magnitude.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I PLEDGE?
It is incredibly important to St. Peter’s that each member of the congregation makes an annual financial commitment to the church. We ask that you be generous in your giving, but we value each commitment, regardless of size. How much you give is a personal decision that should be determined through prayer and reflection.
Many parishes in the Episcopal Church look to the idea of intentional and proportional giving as a guide to help answer this question. You may consider giving a proportion of your income as your annual commitment. Intentional and proportional giving reflects the belief that everything we have is through God’s grace, and how much we give should be in proportion to how much we have received.
